Ralph Lauren

Born in New York, NY in 1939, Lauren worked in New York at Brooks Brothers, Allied stores, and as a glove salesman while attending night school in business studies at City College. In 1967, he joined Beau Brummel Neckwear, where he created the Polo division to produce neckties. In 1972, Lauren established his label under his name.

When he turned to womenswear, he applied the same qualities of timeless elegance to his designs. Lauren created clothes for the active woman of the 70′s, as epitomized in the Annie Hall look. These classic, tailored garments have changed little since they were first introduced but continues to epitomize long-lasting quality and style.

Lauren’s skill and experience has enabled him to design for women, children and their homes. He continues to uphold tradition with his choice of quality fabrics. He has established a pure American style of casual gentrification.
