Designer Alexander McQueen brings a post-apocalyptic theme to his men’s Fall 2010 collection. One of the focal elements were the mouth covering pieces.

The coats and suits have sandy grey digital and reptile skin textures. Such wild textures contrast the fine tailored suits.

Some of the main pieces include the knit jumper with a skull, clean cut jackets with a finely detailed shoulder, pants with an arch in the bottom.

Roberto Cavalli’s collection has much rebel rock, edgy, and energetic inspiration. What is fascinating about this collection is the fine tailoring that designer Cavalli has focused on.

Through the collection, the theme is of a sophisticated rebel youth. The theme is greatly achieved by using sharp blues, reds, and yellow patterns, which contrast the fine structured silhouettes and dark tones.

Some noticeable pieces include military double breasted coats and dinner suits.

Zac Posen’s Target collection has been revealed and it looks fabulous. The collection is intended for a woman who likes to dress up, and look chic.

Posen’s collection includes mostly dresses, skirts, and swimsuits. The silhouettes have an edge and the palette consists of pinks, reds, and floral prints, which contrast the black skirts and trims.

The prices for the collection ranges from $39 to $90 dollars. It will hit the stores on April 25th, and don’t be surprised if it sells out within days of the collection’s debut.

Marc Jacobs has gone retro with Louis Vuitton’s Pre-Fall collection and has taken us back to the Sixties. This collection really shines because of Marc Jacobs’ full interpretation of the collection as he attempts to replicate the Sixties’ look.

The silhouettes are both elegant and chic. Pieces of the collection include reverse tweed skirtsuits, a cape made from a vintage Vuitton blanket, and various beautifully crafted tweed coats and skirts. The light and dark grays with black trims really resonate the vintage look that Marc Jacobs was attempting to achieve.

Topshop’s collection for this Spring has elegantly blended urban edge with arcadian decor. This collection has been separated into two lineups titled ‘Downtown,’ ‘Saloon,’ ‘Meadow,’ and ‘Parisienne.’

The lineup varies from drop crotch trousers, menswear blazers, ankle socks, and trenchcoats, to floral prints, tiered lace, mohair cardigans, and trench coats. What brilliantly brings together this collection is rustic off-white and muted tones.

Designer Sonia Rykiel’s second H&M collection has been highly anticipated. The collection has amazing knitwear pieces that resemble classic French design with the Rykiel touch.

The bright pinks and yellows with black stripes work great with the chic silhouettes found on the dresses and tops that are fused with dotted leggings. Sonia Rykiel’s H&M collection will be available on February 20th.

Australian designer Tina Kalivas has entwined both Afghan and African geometrical patterns as part of her Polyrhythm collection. The breathtaking patterns are designed by diligent folds through the hand-dyed fabrics.

Kalivas often takes global inspiration and her detailed execution is a breath of fresh air. The symmetrically printed patterns go well with the structure of the peplum skirts and chic dresses. The bright red, yellow, and green patterns elegantly contrast the black and off-white colors.

Designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana has brought a colorful palatte for their pre-fall collection. The use of bright green, blue, yellow, orange, and pink contrast qjite nicely with the black jackets, skirts, and trims.

Asymmetrical silhouettes and ruffled skirts were dominant in the collection. Unlike De La Renta’s strategy, designers dolce and gabbana have focused on doing separates so you can create your unique and colorful look.

De La Renta’s inspiration for his Pre-Fall collection came from a Russian fairy tale taken from the Upper East Side. Turquoise, the color of 2010, along with canary yellow, crimson, and pink contrasted the different hues of grays.

The focal pieces were mostly unique and created beautiful silhouettes. This is a different strategy that many designers are taking during the recession. What De La Renta wants is “to make a woman fall in love with your clothes.” The collection consisted of embroidered nude silk chiffon blouse, an elegant lace cocktail dress, and accessories such as scarves small sweaters that wrap around the neck, to name a few.

The main emphasis on Vera Wang’s Pre-Fall collection is structure. The detail on the tailoring and the knitwear is impeccable and chic. Designer Wang stated about her collection, “I’m pushing myself out of my comfort zone.”

The neutral palette contains many dark and coal tones. The contrast can be found on the beautiful textures of wool twill, knits, and organza panels. Memorable pieces include the paillette-covered t-shirt dresses, the finely structured boy blazer in wool twill, and the work suit, which consisted of a jacket paired with a short, sculpted skirt.
