Harold Tillman Acquires Aquascutum DESIGNER, MAIN 09.09.09Written By Ben

According to My Fashon Life, Aquascutum has been acquired by the owner of Jaeger and chair of the British Fashion Counsil, Harold Tillman. Rumors had risen during the weekend that Harold Tillman and Jaeger chief executive Belinda Earl were looking to acquire the 150 year old British heritage label from its former Japanese owners.

Tillman stated:
“We are pleased to be able to return this global luxury heritage fashion brand to British ownership. The Aquascutum brand has a strong positioning in the international arena and has seen significant investment in recent years. Belinda and I have worked successfully together for the last five years and our strong track record, experience and complimentary skills will enable us to continue the development of the Aquascutum brand worldwide.”

Following momentum from UK Fashion, Tillman is anticipating to rebuild Aquascutum just like he restructured the previously struggling brand, Jaeger.
